Olga and Allan always planned a Sails on Lavender Bay wedding, but they definitely did not anticipate having to move their wedding ceremony indoors to the Ovolo at Wolloomooloo. The anxiety of producing outdoor events, yep I am talking about the weather. You always want to have a wet weather back up plan in mind. And it really should be done before you book your plan A outdoor location. But it’s much easier to put that plan on the shelf once you have it, rather than worry about the implementation months out before the event day. What’s the point, right?

Well for Olga and Allan, we did consider the weather right from the beginning. And though wet shoes on your wedding day is the last thing they wanted to be thinking about, planning for their wet weather ceremony really did pay off. They made the call a few days out from their wedding. They gave suppliers plenty of notice to make rearrangements, and they also had plenty of time to let their guests know as well. So ridiculously stress-free in the end.

It rained, you could probably call it torrential at some points on their wedding day. From my years, I know a lot of couples probably still would have forged ahead with their plans. Thankfully because Olga and Allan took a very pragmatic approach they had time to book a beautiful and intimate space at the Ovolo Hotel. Their guests were dry, and enjoyed a bit of pre-function hospitality before they embarked on a water taxi across for their Sails on Lavender Bay wedding reception. The best part was, rather than worry about the weather in those crucial few hours before the ceremony, Olga and Allan didn’t need to worry about a single thing. How deliriously happy they were!
