This wedding. Pretty unforgettable for so many reasons. Mostly because well, Meaghan and Nick along with their bridal party were absolute stunners. It was a pretty tough brief for us to make sure the space felt just as incredible as they all looked. As always, a total labour of love to work on the styling and coordination for this gorgeous but very cold wedding at The Stables, Bendooley Estate.
Located a minute or two from the centre of Berrima this pretty little property, along with its sister property The Book Barn, Bendooley Estate, remains popular among Sydney couples looking for a very reasonably close destination wedding with the charm that only a country estate can afford.
The weather had us all right on the edge of our seats. The weekend I wish I would have brought a ski jacket for bump in. Knowing how much Meaghan desperately wanted to have her outdoor wedding, we left our ceremony styling right up until the last possible minute which was a push, because – take a look at how amazing the floral installations were. Not exactly a few vases that were easily placed out. The weather definitely was not our friend that day, but a warm fire inside (and a fire pit outside) kept our guests warm.
Right on the brink of total all-out COVID lockdown, there were a few jokes about face masks. All at a time when we were all being told we didn’t need them. But the party went on, thank goodness. This would be the last big wedding before we were all told to stay at home.
Delighted though I was. Meaghan and Nick had the most amazing wedding day. The dance floor hectic enough, that dessert was hardly touched. The brief. Classic whites with bridesmaids in striking midnight contrasts. Tulips, hydrangea, rose and pops of babies breath in long cylindrical vases along the way. The indoor fireplace, the warmth of the candlelight on long king tables made this space a feast for the eye. This wedding at Bendooley Estate, The Stables. Truly unforgettable.
