What is a pop up wedding?
Pop up weddings aren’t different to any other legally recognised wedding ceremony. They are wedding ceremonies that involve two people, a marriage celebrant, and two witnesses. At Girl Friday Weddings our pop up ceremonies are designed in premier locations. When you share the cost of a premier location among a few couples, the price of producing a beautiful event in a bespoke location becomes more affordable. By consolidating our costs we can offer you ceremony packages at great rates with the same fantastic team from Girl Friday Weddings giving you peace of mind.
What does the package include? Will I need to pay anything extra?
Our package inclusions vary from location to location. But at the bare minimum all our package costs include a wedding coordinator, some seating for your guests, an aisle runner, signing table, celebrant, PA and venue hire. All you need to get married. We do have package upgrades also available for your consideration.
Is it cheaper to book a pop up wedding?
At Girl Friday Weddings our pop up ceremonies are designed in hand picked outdoor locations with indoor wet weather back up plans. When you share the cost of a premier location among a few couples, the price of producing your wedding becomes more affordable. By consolidating our costs we can offer you ceremony packages at great rates. Not to mention the time that you will save yourself arranging multiple vendors and doing all the legwork in the lead up to the day.
Are pop up weddings legal?
Yes. Our wedding celebrants are all authorised as Civil Marriage Celebrants.
How long will my pop up wedding last?
The venue hire depends on the location of your wedding ceremony. At a minimum venue hire is for 1 ½ hours, sometimes longer depending on the location.
Can I bring in any of my suppliers?
In the spirit of a Pop Up ceremony, you are not permitted to bring in external suppliers as it can tend to slow the day down to the detriment of other couples with a few exception. Please contact us if you’d like to chat in more detail.
Can I add in any of my own personal touches?
Yes you are welcome to bring and set up your own personal touches if you wish to your ceremony. These must be brought in and removed within the venue hire period, and the client will be responsible for setting them up and removal straight after the ceremony.
Do you offer champagne services after the wedding ceremony?
We can offer post champagne services depending on the location of the ceremony and the duration of venue hire. Please check with us if this is something that you are interested in prior to booking.
How many guests can attend our pop up wedding?
There is no minimum group size, however some of our venues have maximum number of guests. Our maximum guest count is to ensure that our wet weather contingency plans will work in the case of inclement weather. Some of our venues have also restricted us in terms of the size of the event. Please contact us if this will pose a problem.
How much does a pop up wedding cost?
Our costs are listed against each venue profile.
Do we need to book in a separate permit for the venue hire?
No, we arrange venue hire directly with suppliers.
Can we get married in another date that is not listed on your site?
Yes, please contact us to enquire on other dates that you may be interested in (you may not be the only one!).
Can we get married in another venue that is not listed on your site?
Yes, if you have a ceremony location in mind for your wedding ceremony, please get in touch with us.
Do your packages include photography?
To keep our costs down, we do not include photography, as we have found from our own experience that couples prefer to hire their own depending on the style of photography. However we can offer upgrades to your package for photography or videography.

Do you only do legally recognised marriages?
Our celebrants are all authorised as Civil Marriage Celebrants for legal unions, though we can perform other types of commitment ceremonies or vow renewals. One day soon, we hope that Australian law recognises all marriages equally.
Do we need to completely any legal paperwork prior to the ceremony?
Yes, if you are having a legal marriage we will book in a time for our celebrant to sit down with you to complete the Notice of Intent to Marry (NOIM). The NOIM is a legally required document that must be completed no earlier than 18 months and no later than 1 month prior to the day. We will be in touch prior to your meeting to help you prepare for the meeting and arrange all the identification documents required to lodge the NOIM.
