Planning a wedding from Hong Kong would have its own set of challenges, so Chris and Shelley needed a bit of help from someone on the ground to plan an unbelievably spectacular event from start to finish. And so it began.
It was ridiculously easy to see from our first meeting, how much Chris truly adored his beautiful fiance Shelley. It was clear that this wedding not only needed to look amazing in every way, it needed to be deeply meaningful as well. And of course, there were a few surprises that they had for each other which meant some top secret planning too.
This would turn out to be far from a wedding day. It would be a festival. With guests travelling from near and far, the Hunter Valley was a place where friends and family could gather, and celebrate over a few days – some with a little bit of a hangover.
The main event, Circa 1876 in Polkobin was the perfect place. With accommodation at The Convent, gorgeous grounds for photography, a purpose built landscaping for the ceremony, and then there’s the food – oh the food!
Of course when it comes to relying on the weather, it can always be a bit risky. As it turned out, it wouldn’t be the rain that we had to worry about at Circa 1876, but smoke from the start of an insane bush fire season. But come wedding day, we were so lucky on the weather front, and things just came together in an ever so romantic fashion. From the flowers, to the outdoor pre-function service courtesy of one fabulous air-stream. My favourite touch were the personalised liqueur favours which were sourced from Melbourne, and the chocolates from Hong Kong. Those had their own story! Just an incredibly fun and sunshine day for two rock stars. Shelley and Chris, what a smitten couple you are. Never a dull moment of planning, and I’m so glad you all had so much fun on the day!
