The Bathers’ Pavilion has been an institution on Sydney’s lower north shore since, well, forever. Serge Dansereau head chef and owner, really sets himself apart from the rest by working with small producers and growers to achieve the modern Australian edge on his menu. So when the dining experience at your wedding reception needs to be just as important as the decor and entertainment, The Bathers’ Pavilion is the perfect location.
If you’re planning a wedding at The Bathers’ Pavilion, there are a few locations which are right by, perfect for a wedding ceremony. The Bathers’ Pavilion offer their terrace for ceremonies at an additional cost if you’d like to keep the event all in one place (which has beautiful beach aspects).
Or if you’d prefer, the more popular choices nearby are the Rotunda at Balmoral Beach or Rocky Point Island. Rocky Point Island isn’t a sensible choice if you have elderly guests with or guests with mobility issues (a bit more of a walk with stairs), but the Rotunda is right next door making it ideal for an outdoor venue. Being coastal, both the Rotunda and Rocky Point are quite exposed to the elements and are terrible locations in poor weather. But the good news is that the terrace within the restaurant is an excellent plan B if you are able to give them plenty of notice and prepared to pay additional venue hire (worth it in my opinion).
The function space upstairs at The Bathers’ Pavilion is a small intimate room, great for events with around 100 guests. The terrace is situated directly off the function space and offers your guests a great space for their drinks and canapes as the sun sets. The interior of the room is lined with sheets of silver giving the room a light and airy feel. The window boxes within this space are fantastic places for large hurricane candle installations or a great place for florals.
We love this venue because it offers guests that restaurant experience with an emphasis on food and wine. If you’re really into creating a great dining experience, their round tables for smaller groups are a fantastic way to get conversation going between your guests before the dancing and celebration kicks in.
