When it comes to wedding planning for outdoor ceremonies, there are a lot of moving parts. I often get asked, how long does it take to plan a wedding? It’s kinda like asking how long a piece of string is. It really depends on how well connected you are and how much experience you’ve had. If you’re planning your own outdoor wedding ceremony, and you’ve never done it before, you may not know where to start. I’ve broken it down into a little cheat sheet to take you through the 4 easy steps.
I’ve made it look quite simple but the trick to planning any successful event is:
- using experienced vendors
- double points for booking experienced vendors who know each other
- triple points for booking experience vendors who know each other and who know your outdoor space
- timing
If you can’t nail points 3 and 4, then it will probably take a lot more work from your end to join all the dots for your suppliers. You also run the risk of your vendors having to troubleshoot on the day because you haven’t allowed enough time for things. Have a really reliable person (ideally a wedding coordinator) who isn’t in your family or isn’t in the bridal party to be the point of contact on the day and help.
