Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel Weddings. Love. Have you ever tried driving through Watsons Bay on a sunny day? If you have, you’ll know how popular this beautiful little spot in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs is.
Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel is right on the water of Watsons Bay a stones throw from the public wharf and right by Robertson Park. The hotel is popular with tourists and locals alike. It’s especially popular for it’s outdoor beach club area where friends gather for long lunches over a few beers or wine. It also has 32 rooms and the boutique accommodation all very recently refurbished in the past few years to a beautiful standard.
The Sunset Room is the most popular space within the venue to host weddings, and it overlooks the beach-club. Be prepared to do some people watching, as the young and uber chic mingle and flirt over their drinks outside. If you are looking for a formal space for a black tie event, this is probably not it. Couples love this room because of its warm and cosy feeling; the white cross back chairs and the exposed timber top dining tables makes it feel intimate and inviting. And if you are looking for a venue with character without doing much yourself, then this could be it. The space is definitely less formal and more fun. Be prepared for your guests to let their hair down. Given the accommodation right on top of the Sunset Room, there is something really appealing about having everything in the one place – and for the bridal party not having to worry about travelling anywhere. You’ve instantly saved money on transport for the day.
Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel is in close proximity to a few other venues (Dunbar House and The Gap Bluff Centre). This should be taken into consideration as Watsons Bay is a very busy place on the weekend, and parking can be very challenging. Especially for vendors trying to set up. We are often engaged by our clients to help with set up as the bump in times there can be very tight if the hotel are running a lunch service. But I love that it is right by a public wharf, the combination of being able to ferry guests from one point potentially for a ceremony to your reception can add a fun element. Particularly if your guests are from out of town, and you wanted to showcase Sydney Harbour. Alternatively for other wedding ceremony ideas Robertson Park is also close by as is Gibson’s Beach Reserve, but don’t forget both very popular locations for visitors during the warmer months.
We’d love to chat to you more if you are wanting to host your wedding at Watsons Bay Boutique Hotel. Feel free to take a look at our wedding coordination or wedding planning packages. Or you can drop us a line to say hi.
