Wedding Inspiration & Past Events
This timeless venue is located at the end of Suakin Drive in Mosman just outside of Sydney. The property has breathtaking views over Chowder Bay and when they are not hosting wedding receptions and events, they are better known for their high tea service complete with English china and Victorian decor. This venue has always been a popular location for weddings as long as I have been in the business. The staff really get it. From the quality of the food to the very high level of service from their staff, they always deliver and hit the mark when it comes to meeting your expectations.

The location makes it an ideal spot for an outdoor wedding. You could either choose to have your wedding within Gunners Barracks Sandstone Courtyard or Harbour Terrace. Or you have the choice of Georges Heights Lookout or Georges Heights Harbourview Lawn. Both of these venues are managed by Sydney Harbour Federation Trust and must be booked separately. The great thing about Gunners Barracks is that any couple considering an outdoor wedding will be comforted by the fact that there is a wet weather back up plan. The Harbour Terrace has plastic blinds which can be pulled down in the event of wet weather and encloses the space making it mostly weather proof.

Gunners Barracks is a fantastic location for small to medium sized events, and they can host up to 130 guests. It can become an awkward venue if you’re considering seating guests for dinner on their Harbour Terrace, but when their main dining room is full of guests, it’s wonderfully ambient and cosy. The Waterford Crystal chandeliers really do set the scene. Gunners Barracks to this day is still such a popular venue that it is usually open for lunch and dinner. This is worth noting as bump in times can be extremely challenging and any couple with an elaborate set up should discuss this with the venue and vendors up front prior to committing to the venue.
